What is a Subsea tensioner?

A subsea tensioner is bolt tensioning solution which can be on underwater application. These are often underwater flanges which need to be maintained and serviced regularly.
Tentec subsea bolt tensioning tools have been used in the UK North sea since 1991 and have a proven reliability and safety record.
The subsea tensioner series are made from high strength stainless steel which greatly reduces maintenance work to a minimum after subsea use.

Typical applications

The subsea tensioner is designed for subsea applications, meaning below sea level. There are a lot of flanges below water which we can target, with most of them pertaining to the oil and gas sector.

Using a split nut with a Subsea tensioner

The Compact-8 range of subsea Bolt Tensioning tools can be supplied with quick-acting Split Reaction Nuts. Simply mount the tensioning tool over the stud to be tensioned, slide the open reaction nut over the bolt and snap the reaction nut halves together for quick and reliable assembly.

The quick speed of fit ensures the most efficient use of expensive diver time.
