New Retained Reaction Arm

Within O&G in 2020, 35% of injuries sustained, causing a lost day of work were from physical injuries or dropped objects. Over 80% were in environments where hydraulic torque is being used.

“Right First Time” positioning is difficult with no positional indicators or stops. Misaligned arms can be unsafe and can reduce tool life.

Accidental disengagement can cause severe drop hazard.

The Reaction arm is connected to an anchor component that can rotate around the housing but is fixed axially.
The arm is connected to the anchor using spring loaded bolts that allow the arm to slide along the splines until they are disengaged but prevent the arm from fully separating from the wrench.
There are spline alignment guides to aid the operator when repositioning the arm whilst on the application or changing the reaction point.

Integral Square Drive Retainer

The TF Wrench has an integral drive retainer which is part of the square drive. This prevents drop hazards and accidental loss of separate components.
The majority of competitor tooling has a two-piece design.
Locking mechanism prevents accidental release.

Retained Link Pin

Integral Square Drive Retainer

A patented retained link pin, allows the change of ratchet link more efficiently, whilst increasing safety of others.
There’s now no danger of losing the link pin, dropping it from height, or damaging it as the pin is held into the housing.
This design is now flush to the tool, preventing the user from accidently reacting against the pin or having to change the pin when changing tightening direction.

Support Handle

The support handle was designed with ergonomics at the heart of it. With a robust connection it also has a 12-position indexing on application, making it easier to manouvre around any application and not affect the operator. The tool also has multiple attachment points on both th TF & TFX wrenches.

The handle connections now has been modified from the ‘flower pattern’ design in the industry, as this was found to be warn over time. With this new design, wear on the handle connection will be reduced and increase the longevity of the part.
