Vision over Ethernet (VoE) is a PC-based image processing concept from VisionTools based on decentralised hardware. The system contains specially developed hardware, which is perfectly matched and offers many advantages.

The new image processing concept includes hardware developed specifically for this purpose, which is perfectly matched to each other and offers the following connections:

The new VoE Sly-Box is a compact industrial PC for image processing in industrial environments. Its high-contrast 21.5″ display with a 4 mm tempered glass cover and resistive touch ensures readability and easy operation. Two PCIe 4x slots support communication cards for fieldbuses (e.g., Profinet) or 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Despite its compact size, the fully enclosed, fanless housing enables installation without a control cabinet. This robust PC is versatile for various tasks and, as part of the VoE (Vision-over-Ethernet) concept, serves as an evaluation unit for modular, decentralized camera systems.

Decentralised power supply units eliminate the need for control cabinets or terminal boxes, allowing better heat dissipation and reducing space and costs with passive cooling. The modular units can be placed closer to their use, commissioned individually, and easily tested. In case of a fault, they are accessible for quick replacement, simplifying maintenance. Status LEDs and load displays are directly visible, while coded round plugs prevent wiring errors and speed up installation. The system is also easily expandable without modifying existing control cabinets—an advantage for all decentralised systems.

VoE – NetBox is an industrial, unmanaged 8-port Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) switch for secure and reliable network connections. The Power-over-Ethernet (PoE+) switch delivers both power and data via network cables, eliminating the need for external power supplies for PoE-enabled devices like GigE cameras. Each port provides 30W (PoE+), with a total capacity of 160W for up to 8 devices. Two 10 Gigabit uplink ports enable high-bandwidth connections and easy network expansion. Built for harsh environments (IP67-rated) and IEEE 802.3-compliant, it features M12 round plugs, pre-assembled cables for quick installation, status LEDs, and redundant power for enhanced diagnostics and reliability.

Suitable for open mounting in industrial environments
The VoE-Camera is an industrial GigE camera with PoE for data transmission and power via a network cable or a separate 24VDC supply. It features four digital, opto-decoupled, PLC-compatible I/Os for triggers or lighting control. All connections use robust M12 round connectors, with pre-assembled cables available. The GigE PoE camera supports 1.6–12 MP resolutions with a C-mount lens holder. Its protective housing allows 90° mounting, and the front tube or protective glass can be replaced without detaching the camera.

Industrial round plug M12 X-Cross
VoE module lights, designed for the VisionTools VoE system, connect directly to the PoE switch without a separate power supply. Controlled via TCP/IP, they integrate seamlessly into V60 software, reducing devices, installation effort, and system complexity while delivering bright, durable illumination with high-power LED technology in sizes from 75×120 mm to 600×120 mm.

The LED spotlights have PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) functionality and are especially well suited for use with the VisionTools VoE system. Just like cameras, they are connected directly to the PoE Gigabit Ethernet switch. An additional power supply for the luminaires is not necessary. Power and data are routed together via the network cable. Modular multi-camera systems thus become sleeker, require fewer devices, and the installation effort is reduced. The LED illuminators are controlled by software, via TCP/IP commands. Ready-made objects are already integrated in the V60 image processing software and only need to be parameterised. An integrated web server is available for configuration and diagnosis. With 7 high-power LEDs at up to 22.5 watts power consumption and 12° optics, the spots achieve a high light output. The almost wear-free VoE LED spotlights, in a robust aluminium housing with industrial M12 connection technology, are available in the light colours white and infrared.
